What is a SEPA mandate?
A mandate is a document you fill out to authorize a creditor to send instructions to debit your account.
Several pieces of information must be included in this document:
The title "SEPA Direct Debit Mandate".
The ICS (SEPA Creditor Identifier): this is a number assigned to any creditor carrying out SEPA direct debits.
Creditor's contact details: address, company name or legal name if different.
The RUM (Unique Mandate Reference): this is a code that identifies SEPA direct debits.
💡 A creditor has a single ICS but multiple RUMs.
Example: You pay your Internet and mobile subscriptions to a single provider. The provider has one ICS but will debit your account with two different RUMs, one linked to your mobile plan and the other to your internet plan.
The legal notices.
How to obtain your mandate?
B2B Mandate
You can download the B2B mandate from your professional account on the website of the competent public authority.
For example, if you need to download an SPF Finances mandate, you can log in to your account here.
The pre-filled B2B mandate is available in the Manage my bank accounts section.
Core Mandate
The creditor usually sends it to you when you subscribe to your service. You just need to sign the form. You do not need to download the core mandate from your Qonto account.
