During the opening of your account, we ask you to upload or take a photo of documents related to your identity, your company's identity, and its beneficial owners.
1 - Your identity As the account holder, we need to know your identity. You can take a photo of a copy of one of the following valid identity documents:
- A passport issued by an EU or EEA country (both pages);
- A Belgian residence permit (front and back).

2 - The identity of your beneficial owners: A beneficial owner is a natural person who directly or indirectly holds more than 25% of the company's capital or voting rights.
If your company has one of the legal forms mentioned below, you must declare the beneficial owners and provide us with a copy of their identity document.
- Partnership (Partnership);
- Limited Liability Company (SARL);
The identity documents accepted by Qonto remain the same as for the account holder:
- A passport issued by an EU or EEA country (both pages);
- A Belgian residence permit (front and back).
3 - Registration documents according to your company: you
can take a photo or upload a copy of one of your registration documents.
Individual entrepreneurs:
- An extract from the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (BCE) dated less than 3 months. Get your extract here.
Any other type of company:
- An extract from the BCE or an equivalent document dated less than 3 months for your registered company. Get your extract here.
Legal forms accepted by Qonto on the Belgian market:
- Partnership (Partnership / Vennootschap);
- Private Limited Company (SRL / Besloten Vennootschap);
- Individual Entrepreneur (Indépendant / Zelfstandige).
