What permissions does the Manager role have?

  • Updated

The Manager role is divided into two permission levels:

The Manager role is also customisable: Admins or Account Holders define permissions for each Manager individually.

What is the permission scope for a Manager?

Depending on what they want to delegate, the Admin or Account Holder defines the permission scope for each Manager:

  • at the level of the entire company

  • at the team level

The Manager will be able to view transactions, manage payments, invite Employees and access balances depending on the scope level chosen.

πŸ’‘ You must create a team before assigning a Manager to a team.

  Basic Manager Advanced Manager
Access transactions βœ… βœ…
Make payments from selected accounts βœ… βœ…
Manage cards βœ… βœ…
Make transfers and reimburse expenses (set spending limits, per month and per transfer) βœ… βœ…
Upload and configure supplier invoices βœ… βœ…
Invite team members as Employees βœ… βœ…
Approve card requests βœ… βœ…
View balances of selected accounts ❌ βœ…
View IBAN and download statements ❌ βœ… (if the manager's scope is extended to the entire company)
Manage accounting and suppliers ❌ βœ…
Approve transfers and reimburse expenses, including travel expenses ❌ βœ…
Set up and suspend direct debit mandates ❌ βœ…

πŸ‘‰ Good to know: Managing incoming direct debits (SEPA direct debits collected from your own customers) is reserved for the "Account Holder" and "Admin" roles and cannot be delegated to a "Manager". The "Set up and suspend direct debit mandates" permission only applies to outgoing direct debit mandates (B2B).

The Advanced Manager can be included in the approval flow for transfer and reimbursement requests, configured by the Account Holder or an Admin. If you have the Supplier Invoice Management and Team Expense Management add-ons, please refer to How to customise the approval workflow for transfer and reimbursement requests? to learn more.

Can a Manager access certain sub-accounts?

Yes, whether a Manager's permissions are at team level or company-wide, you can assign one or more sub-accounts to these roles. They will be able to access transactions and make payments from the selected accounts.

  • The Manager already has a profile on the account:
In this case, go to User Management > User Access > Active > click on the Manager you want to edit > Account Permissions > click on the pencil next to Role. Click on the Manager role and on select the sub-accounts they can access.
  • The Manager has not yet been invited to the account:
Go to User Management > User Access > Invite a member > follow the registration steps and select the sub-accounts they can access.

You can also decide whether the Manager can view the balances of selected accounts, the IBAN, transactions and download statements.

This action can be modified at any time from the User Access section.

What permissions cannot be delegated to a Manager?

❌ Invite all types of team members: Admins, Managers and Accountants

❌ Modify role statuses for themselves and other users

❌ Modify the subscription

❌ Set up sub-accounts

❌ Set up and manage third-party tools via Connect integrations

πŸ’‘ Admins can perform these actions.
